A long hard wait for die-hard fans of Kelly Clarkson had finally come to an end. Her All I Ever Wanted (fourth studio album) tour kicked off on the 6th of October in New York. It has been rocking all parts of the world since then and been bringing in many positive reviews.
I had the privilege of seeing her rock the stage in the ICC on the 14th of March, thanks to 5fm. Quite frankly she could have sold out a larger crowd because her voice was big enough to blow the walls off the venue.
I interviewed two ‘crazy-about’ fans, Michelle Scholtz and Jadene Tager that had the most amazing time ever with their friends. Michelle said she sounds just as good in real life as she does in her songs on CD’s. Jadene added that KC is no glamour queen but rather herself which makes her popular in her own respect.
Everyone waited eagerly in line to get the best available spot to stand. After tickets were checked and armbands were handed out the doors finally opened. It seemed like it had been forever until we’d see Kelly as winner of South African Idols Jason Hartmann opened the show.
Jason left and about half an hour later all the lights went out, everyone cheered and the music started, which built up to the sensation even more. The lights flickered different colours and lit up the stage. Kelly then walked through the centre looking stunning as ever with black jeans and a colourful top wearing a beautiful smile and started singing. Her opening song was ‘All I ever wanted’ supported by 2 lovely back up vocalists.
Fans sang along to almost every song including ‘Since you been gone’ with everyone in the spirit pumping their fists and clapping their hands high in their air.
Kelly slowed things down, which shows us her versatility as a performer and a writer. Kelly interacted well with the crowd and made us laugh. Her final song was Long Shot which started by a club mix.
The crowd loved every minute of the show and was very disappointed to see her run off the stage and wave her good byes. The final shows run through April in Autralia
